The project started in March 2019 and it was planned to start the study in the last quarter of 2019, allowing sufficient time for preparing the protocol and tools, getting the ethical approvals, and to prepare the study sites for the clinical trial work. During the first year of the project, staff has been hired and trained, and ethical processes have undergone. However, due to the difficulty in getting the trial insurance, the trial start has been postponed for June 2020. Since March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has reached Africa and many restrictions have been made by national governments. This has impacted many studies including Pyrapreg. Mitigation actions have been put in place and a new timeline for the study start has been set-up. Recruitment is now planned to start in October 2020.
